I want to take a moment and give someone props.
Her name is Heather DeDona and she’s a real estate agent based out of Oak Ridge, NC. I have no clue how many homes she sales a year, but she’s done a great job connecting to folks in the online community.
I first met Heather via Twitter (@heatherdedona) and from there I checked out her Web site, The Triad Agent. She has a steady stream (could post a bit more frequent) of content on the site and provides links to her Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.
If you visit her Web site it’s very clear that she’s an agent, but the content doesn’t scream “Please buy this or that house from me.” Heather provides information that is meant to be helpful to prospective buyers or those that have an interest in the housing market.
Sure there are lots of agents that have Web sites (can you name one of the top of your head?) and Facebook pages, but Heather has made a proactive effort to differentiate herself by providing helpful information and getting involved in the online community. As a buyer, that would make me feel like she is on my side and not simply pushing product – not to mention connected.
