It really is the simple things in life that make people happy.
Here’s a classic example that shows customer service really isn’t all that hard.
I’m moving apartments in New York City. If you think moving in a suburban setting stinks, try moving in the city – every aspect of it basically stinks. From finding a new apartment to packing your stuff, it’s not fun.
Speaking of packing your stuff, you have to put it in boxes… and getting boxes from point A to B is a task in and of itself.
After a quick Google search I learned that you could easily order boxes online and have them delivered within the same day. Who knew?! See, I’m not that hard to please.
In a matter of minutes I made an order with City Moving Boxes and then started to wonder if the boxes would actually be delivered on the same day as advertised. A few hours went by and then I received the email below,
“This order was delivered.
We delivered 2 orders to your building and the driver took extra time to confirm with doorman that everything was delivered and separated so there wouldn’t be a mix up.
Please ensure that you only take the items in your delivery.
Thanks,
City Moving Boxes”
A quick call to my doorman and they confirmed the two orders arrived and were clearly labeled.
City delivered on what they said they’d do, and then sent a little confirmation note to put the icing on the cake. No rocket science here, but it was good customer service.
Oh, and guess how much their delivery charge was? $0.
