Tumblr Tip: How to Edit Automated Tumblr Tweets

At this point a massive amount of people are using Tumblr to publish both professional and personal blogs.

It’s an incredibly user friendly system, but there’s one little trick that I’ve noticed a lot of people overlooking.

One of the options Tumblr gives users is the ability to connect their posts to a Twitter account. Doing so allows you to check a box that prompts Tumblr to tweet the post once it’s published. If you simply check the box Tumblr will pre-format the tweet (doesn’t always provide the right message), but there’s a way to customize what is tweeted and that’s what I’ll show you how to do in this post.

Customer Service: Moving Boxes Style

It really is the simple things in life that make people happy.

Here’s a classic example that shows customer service really isn’t all that hard.

I’m moving apartments in New York City. If you think moving in a suburban setting stinks, try moving in the city – every aspect of it basically stinks. From finding a new apartment to packing your stuff, it’s not fun.

Speaking of packing your stuff, you have to put it in boxes… and getting boxes from point A to B is a task in and of itself.

Introducing the Influencer 2.0

Much has been talked about the influencer – individuals, normally a 3rd party, that have a media platform and, in most instances, a sizable audience, or one in which they can get to take action.

That form of the influencer won’t be going away, but it will continue to evolve and get more refined as time goes on and research tools get more advanced.

Working with Bloggers 101

My last blog post touched on something that has started to somewhat drive me crazy.

And that’s the idea that businesses, and agencies on their behalf, reach out to bloggers and basically want content and back links published for free. As in, zero compensation kind of free.

In the post I mentioned that I didn’t start my fashion blog (my personal side project) to make money, but as more time is invested in the site I’ve set goals, one of which is generating revenue. And I’m not talking about buying a yacht kind of revenue, but it would be great to pay for things such as:

Talking Fashion on TV

I won’t even begin to hide the fact that I love being on TV. It brings up memories from my radio days and and no matter if I’m delivering good news or bad news a spokesperson, it never gets old.

But this segment doesn’t have to do with good news or bad news about a company or anything of that nature. It has to do with fashion. Yes, fashion.

The Fox affiliate back home in NC reached out about having me do a reoccurring street style photography segment after seeing my photos on Fashables – my fashion blog. It was a random request, but I jumped at the opportunity without thinking twice.
