Southwest Makes it Easy to Share their Emails

by Ryan Shell on January 19, 2010

I received an email from Southwest this morning and wanted to share a couple things that stood out. Before you proceed, click on the image to the left and give the email a glance.

The email itself is a bit busy for my taste, but I like how they’ve prominently included a “Share this E-mail with friends” button towards the top right corner of the email.

I also like how they’ve utilized the Facebook and Twitter icons in an effort to have recipients share the email with friends.

Having the ability to get your message to someone’s Inbox is a great thing, but giving them the opportunity to easily share your message with friends might prove to be equally as valuable.

Feel free to connect with me on Twitter and Facebook. Subscribe to the blog via RSS or click here to have new posts sent directly to your Inbox.

Hi Ryan,
This type of functionality is now standard in some (most?) newsletter services. For example, myEmma, which I use, provides a very prominent “share this email” by default in their templates.

I think it helps when the email contains something that you actually want to share, too. :)

BTW, nice site. I came here from the diythemes forums, and spent some time looking around.
